Position Summary
 
The Senior Collaboration Systems Engineer will provide the Firm with expertise in design, implementation and support of enhanced collaboration systems platforms and solutions.  The senior role will provide an overall guidance and mentorship to the Collaboration Team and will have a higher level of knowledge and expertise in a wide array of technologies we employ at the Firm.  Focus will be user experience and ensuring the integration of solutions between our Unified Communications, Messaging, Audio Video and Networking systems are designed to deliver effective and intuitive collaboration platforms.  Provide implementation and documentation of solutions.  Act as a 3rd level escalation to operational and production issues.  Perform other duties as required by the Firm.

Our team comprises of three functions: Business Services – who maintain, develop and support our enterprise systems, Operations – who design, build and support our communications and data centre operations, and Support Services – who provide desktop, meeting and training support in the Firm’s offices. Together we support our lawyers with leading edge technology and systems to deliver elite legal and best-in-class client service.

This encompasses from business analysts, data architects, application developers and engineering staff covering range of technologies that include virtualisation, cloud, networking, storage, collaboration services and security. We deploy the latest technology and hardware within our state of the art offices. Our technical support staff support and train our people on the latest hardware and operating systems, remote working capability and mobile devices. Our Shared Services centres provide Service Desk and Operation Centres that providing support and monitoring of Firm systems 24 x 7.
 
Working closely with our business services colleagues in support of the Firm’s Finance, HR, Marketing and KM Information Technology systems Drawing, Global Technology Services is at the heart of the Firm’s global operations.
 
 
Duties and Accountabilities1
 

  • Responsible for comprehensive designs: properly planning and articulating how each piece impacts the other parts of the solution, the existing environment, and any future roadmaps of the overall collaboration systems platforms portfolio.
  • This position will serve as the final escalation point for all Messaging, Unified Communications, Audio Video and Networking functions.
  • Assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the collaboration systems platforms and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Follows Firm project management processes to onboard any solution, building business cases with assessing ROI and presenting the solution to management for approval consideration.
  • Leads projects assigned by updating project status, resource management and tracking project success.
  • Provides leadership of the overall function’s objectives and goals and mentorship to other members of the Collaboration Team.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of various collaboration platforms including hardware/software support, training, and special projects.
  • Maintains excellent communication with PMO and management on all tasks and projects.
  • Responsible for communicating with customers, peers, team and managers regarding incident and change management.
  • Responsible for time management and recording time to project and solutions initiatives.
  • Responsible for developing end user documentation and instructions on deployed technologies and future enhancements; technical documentation responsibilities include compiling operations and maintenance reports as required, to include monthly operations and key metrics reports.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Cisco networks and Cisco Unified Communications deployment and/or operation. CCNA (Required); CCNP-Voice (Required); CCIE-Voice (Highly Desired). Associates Degree (Required), Bachelor’s Degree (Highly Desired). 
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager; Cisco Unity Connection; Cisco Unified Presence Server; Jabber; WebEx;  Cisco Unified Contact Center Express; Attendant Console Solutions (Cisco & Bridge); Cisco Telepresence; Cisco Show & Share; Cisco ECDS; Video Communications Server; Cisco TelePresence Management Suite; Cisco Emergency Responder; Cisco Communications Gateways (ISR); SIP Trunk Interfaces; FXO and FXS Interfaces; SRST; Cisco Routers; Cisco Switches; Cisco Wireless ; Quality of Service
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS Server; VMWare Virtual Infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory; IIS; Database (MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge in setup and configuration of Cisco Prime; Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager; Solarwinds.
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic Scripting, JS, SOAP, XML, JSON, PHP HTML, CSS, PowerShell and C# programming.Proficient in and k
  • Highly capable of creating technical deliverables utilizing MS Project, MS Word, MS Visio, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Mac OSX in a LAN environment.
